Sol Collective offers a variety of accessible art, culture, and activism programming for all ages both at the center and in the community. From arts workshops to cultural festivals, Sol Collective has been providing resources for the Sacramento community and beyond since 2005. Beads and Beats
Beads & Beats at Sol Collective is every First Friday from Feb to Oct 2024, 6-8 PM. A space for creatives to their work on their beading projects. This is a potluck event, a space to create, eat and listen to music together!
Elevate Youth CA
This statewide program prioritizes youth leadership in under-resourced communities harmed by the War on Drugs that endure the consequences of systemic racism in their lives, including punitive physical, emotional and economic impacts.
Global Local Mercado
Sol Collective's Global Local Mercado, where community, creativity, and culture converge! A vibrant hub for handmade, DIY, locally sourced, and ethically made products, our Mercado is a celebration of craftsmanship and community spirit.
Healthy Cooking on a Budget
Healthy Cooking on a Budget offers a wide variety of healthy and affordable dishes to help decolonize your diet! Following a step-by-step demonstration attendees will be provided with samples and an easy to replicate recipe.
Youth 10 and under take over the Sol Collective once a month for an afternoon of music, art, and creative games led by Sol staff and community members. Always free for the whole family. Donations accepted.
Kids Day
Highlighting the producers and beat-makers, Open Aux is an open-mic style opportunity to showcase your latest slaps and slumps and receive feedback from other local music creatives and build your network.
SLAPS! Open Aux
Open to everyone including artists, and anyone interested in developing their creativity through art making. Create art projects across mediums. No experience required. Just bring your own materials.
Sol Art Labs
Sol Gallery
The Sol Collective gallery displays the artwork of upcoming and established local and global artists. The gallery hosts new art exhibitions year round, and is free to the public of all ages to visit. Follow us on social media to find out about our next exhibition!
Sol Outdoors
Sol Outdoors focuses on providing culturally relevant outdoors exposure experiences to youth, kids, and adults, in the form of nature walks, hikes, talks, art activations in the outdoors, panel discussions, documentary screenings, video hikes, camping trips, and more.
Souls of the City
Founded and organized by Sol Collective in partnership with The Center for Sacramento History and The City of Sacramento, the yearly Souls of the City festival is Sacramento's largest Dia De Los Muertos celebration.
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
Calmecac Danza Azteca
Every Thursday night for the last ten years pre-Columbian Aztec dance organization, Calmecac, is committed to providing community with the opportunity to learn and experience the culture and traditions of their ancestors through danza, drumming and other forms of artistic and cultural expression.
Cap City Powwow Drum and Dance
Cap City Drum and Dance is a cultural and educational outlet that aims to reconnect and build healthy relationships within the Native community along with focusing on youth, cultural connections, and mental health.
El Arte De Amar
El Arte de Amar Foundation is a children’s fine arts workshop series that provides classes including Second Language Spanish, Performing Arts, Singing, Music, Literature, Voice and Diction, Human Rights, Care for Nature, Survival Agriculture, First Aid, and Aplastic Arts.
Escritores del Nuevo Sol
A bilingual writing group with deep roots in Sacramento going back over 30 years, Escritores del Nuevo Sol, or Writers of the New Sun, meets once a month to share their latest writing and continue community work. Find out more at escritoresdelnuevosol.org.
Opus Open Mic
An immersive art experience; Opus Open Mic centers artists featuring a new artist every month alongside edible art and an interactive open mic that invites the community to share the stage. Founded and hosted by Chloe Williams.
Sac Kids First Campaign

Sac Street Med Clinic
Sacramento Street Medicine is a nonprofit that provides medical care to individuals who are experiencing homelessness in Sacramento County. Since 2019 they have been dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals living in encampments. sacstreetmed.org
Sound Healing

Yoga Homie
An intentional hour of yoga on Tuesday nights led by Veronica Bolds that center people of color and empower community members to slow down and reflect on how they show up both in the world and on their mat. Second Tuesdays are R&B (Relax and Breathe) Yoga; a flow to the soundtrack of Hip Hop, Jazz, R&B, and Funk.
