RUBY AVILA

An Oak Park/South Sac native, Ruby Avila came to Sol Collective as a high school student in 2010 before attending UC Santa Cruz and receiving her B.A. in Anthropology. While at Sol Collective as a mentee, Ruby helped launch Sacramento’s first permaculture program that helped start the conversation about food inequity/insecurity in our communities. After graduating, Ruby returned to Sol Collective and has been a cornerstone of the administrative, programming, and events teams since. When she’s not directing traffic at Sol Collective as the Administrative Director she’s probably hiking, gardening, at a live show, or at danza with Ixtatutli.
